An NYC-based multi-disciplinary designer with 13 years of experience in UX/UI Design and an M.A. in Sustainable Fashion Technology. Mariaclara Golfo solves complex product and service design challenges for mission-driven companies.
Fashion illustration ignited her creative journey, establishing the foundation for a multidisciplinary practice spanning traditional painting, sustainable fashion design, and human-centered innovation. Her path has woven through fashion startups to leading design for teams at Brit + Co, Samsung, Spotify, and Netflix, where she designed tools for thousands of global users.
As a dedicated catalyst for positive change, she makes sense out of complexity while offering solutions to human and environmental challenges through collaborative, human-centered approaches.
Her creative practice compelled her to analyze the impact of creating, from both narrative and waste perspectives, leading her to pursue a Master's in Sustainable Fashion Technology at IED Istituto Europeo di Design in Barcelona. There, she explored the critical question: What responsibility do we have as creators to create consciously?
Currently, she creates at Greenpoint Gallery Studio while threading the needle between art on cotton canvas and patchwork collage from rescued textiles. Working with pre-consumer textile waste, she explores fashion art as a means to extend textiles' lifecycles through new forms. Additionally, she is writing her first memoir, leveraging her passion for poetry and personal narrative.
